What a great cover! Are mysteries harder to write than your other historical fiction titles? Or the same?

I think they’re different for me. Historical fiction has been more deep emotion/character driven whereas the mysteries have a lot of focus on plot and the puzzle (with some bigger character arcs going throughout the series). I love writing both!

That's so interesting. All of my books have an element of mystery but they're not true mysteries. Have you ever read this craft book by Patricia Highsmith? I think it's the best book I've ever read about how to write a mystery into a plot. She's so talented and she does it too well. https://www.amazon.com/Plotting-Writing-Suspense-Patricia-Highsmith/dp/031228666X/ref=sr_1_8?crid=27ILMYHCNKNHR&keywords=patricia+highsmith&qid=1705680539&s=books&sprefix=patricia+highsmith%2Cstripbooks%2C84&sr=1-8

Sounds very interesting as does Whitehall.

Remember the Indy bookstores too!
