Long time readers will remember that, once upon a time, I used to do a lot of live interviews over on Facebook for my Ask an Author series. I started the interviews during the pandemic and carried them on until 2022. I am incredibly proud of those discussions, but they were a huge amount of work and a big time commitment that was difficult to keep up with as my life changed and the world opened up again.
Ask an Author has now evolved into a written interview feature here on Substack, but when Facebook sent me a note that archived video would no longer be kept on its site I knew I didn’t want to lose years of work and interviews that have a lot of valuable advice from some of my favorite historical fiction authors.
The solution? Upload the videos here on Substack to create a single, definitive Ask an Author archive!
This archive contains hours of interviews with authors talking about some truly fantastic books. I encourage you to dive into the entire archive by clicking here.
If you’re spoiled for choice and don’t know where to start, might I suggest:
- on The Forest of Vanishing Stars
Victoria Christopher Murray and Marie Benedict on The Personal Librarian
